Job description

The Mechanical Engineer is a key position responsible for leading mechanical design and project management. With a minimum of 10 years of experience and holding a Professional Engineering (P.Eng. / P.E.) license, this professional is expected to exhibit expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and simulation software. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives, managing complex engineering projects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Mechanical Engineer plays a pivotal role in mentoring junior staff, managing project timelines and budgets, and engaging in client interactions. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic work environments. Knowledge of Canadian and American design codes is a must. The Mechanical Engineer is committed to continuous professional improvement. The successful candidate MUST be able to travel to the US infrequently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the development of Mechanical Engineer designs and teams on a project basis .
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Conduct and supervise detailed mechanical analysis and simulations.
  • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation (project management)
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in mechanical engineering.
  • Participate in client meetings, offering technical expertise and support.
  • Supervise the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Ensure quality control and continuous improvement in design processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng. / P.E.) license.
  • Expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and simulation software.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel to the United States as needed (infrequently)

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
