EFI Engineering is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team. This role requires a strong background in structural engineering, combined with professional experience in the design and assessment of building structures. The successful candidate will have a P.Eng. license in the province of Ontario, Canada.

This role will be a hybrid between Ottawa and Cornwall. This position can be hybrid if the candidate does not live in Cornwall.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, assess, and supervise the construction of building structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and economical.
  • Perform and review structural analysis and design of structural components and systems according to Canadian and provincial codes and standards.
  • Prepare engineering reports, plans, designs, and specifications for various structural engineering projects.
  • Manage and conduct site inspections to monitor the progress of projects, ensuring they comply with design, safety standards, and environmental and other regulations.
  • Perform technical and feasibility studies including site investigations, foundation analysis, and geotechnical evaluations.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction managers, civil engineers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure the integration of the structural design with other design efforts.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to establish project requirements and ensure their needs are met.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment for simulation purposes and to prepare engineering design documents.
  • Develop budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs.
  • Must be able to travel to the US (Massena)

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Current and valid P.Eng. license in Ontario or another Canadian province.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in structural engineering design.
  • Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and National Building Code of Canada (NBCC).
  • Proven ability to produce concise, well-written reports.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

This role involves both office and field work. Field work may include construction site visits with some travel required.

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
